#kentbridestobe and other tips for wedding planning!

It is Spring 2020 and the entire world has been introduced to a ‘new normal’. But how can a bride-to-be meant plan a wedding during this time? Is it even possible to arrange a ‘mass gathering’ of your loved ones virtually?

The simple answer it yes, it will just be different with far less face to face contact. Read on for a few tips that may just help you plan and enjoy your dream wedding!

Have you ever taken the time to read a company’s hashtags on Instagram? It’s a way to ensure you see content applicable to you, and therefore as a business we attract our target market.

As a Kent based boutique, one little gem that I (and the majority of savvy Kent based wedding suppliers) use is the hashtag #kentbridestobe. If you follow this hashtag, your feed will become fuller of excellent ideas and posts by a wide variety of people you may just never have found without it!

Virtual tours and appointments

They say every situation has a silver lining, and I have to say in 2020, I have been really impressed with the creativity wedding suppliers have shown in engaging with brides. Up to now, we relied heavily on wedding fairs and meeting couples in person. But now, venues are doing virtual tours, boutiques are hosting virtual appointments (see below for what we are doing) and even wedding fairs are going online too! Check out @kentweddingexperience for these on Insta!

Sure, it isn’t the same as the real thing, but given the circumstances, there’s no other choice.

READ REVIEWS!!!

In a time when we aren’t going to feel the atmosphere of a venue or have a face to face conversation with a supplier, it is vital to read the customer reviews of a wedding supplier. I always say it, but we will always tell you we are amazing (and we actually are haha!) but brides will not lie. We have only ever been awarded 5* reviews from our brides, how many other businesses can prove the same? It’s worth checking!

(If you are a #kentbridestobe or maybe a newlywed, please do take the time to review the services you use, it’s invaluable for businesses!)

Upcoming events

Maybe you are newly engaged (Congratulations!) and in the early stages of planning? If that is the case, then get the dates of future events in your diary now! For example, we have two designer events coming up in the boutique (currently set for end of June and July). The weekend appointments of these events will be booked early as our capacity will be reduced due to the new protocols in place. Wedding fairs are still planning to go ahead (our first one is booked for August) and the guest numbers will be closely monitored for these too. Maybe venues are planning open house days where you will book a socially distanced tour of the premises?

When restrictions are relaxed, engaged couples will be keen to engage with their suppliers, so do get organised and bag your place now!

Have you heard of Bridebook?

Bridebook is the UK’s number 1 wedding planning app where engaged couples can search for wedding suppliers and make ‘enquiries’ via their profiles. We keep our profile updated with all our upcoming events and social media links. It’s useful for you as you can directly compare suppliers in one app….and it’s free to use!

All you have to do is download the app and set your wedding date and location- happy browsing!

Our virtual appointments

Buying a wedding dress is probably going to be a different experience for some time to come. As a business, we have had to explore ways of running our business safely, while making the bridal experience a special one for you. We already know that brides loved the service we provided but the time for face to face conversation is not now.

With this in mind, we are launching our virtual appointments from Tuesday, 2nd June! These appointments will be a 15-20 minute conversation with Victoria or Amy. We will discuss your likes and dislikes, your body shape and styles that may suit you the best. The appointment will conclude with your stylist selecting a few gowns that fit your needs and book a styling appointment for when we re-open. Our aim is to do a virtual chat with many brides booked in over the next few months. We believe it will allow you make more informed decisions and allow our stylists to be far more prepared for when you attend your appointments.

**Note: we will only insist on these while social distancing is in place**

Want to book an appointment?

We are currently collating a waiting list of brides who wish to attend an appointment over the summer months. Should you wish to be added to this, email or DM us your name, e-mail address and wedding date. We will be in touch as soon as we are ready to take bookings.
