Top 5- Low Back Wedding Dresses!
If there is one area of skin our brides don’t mind showing, it’s their backs and with low back wedding dresses being right on trend now, there is so choice for you out there! And showing your back is far less scandalous than other features that cause Nan’s eyes to roll or Mum to get flustered, so we say it’s a trend to go for!
When choosing low back wedding dresses, the only thing you need to consider is how much do you want to show? Lots of brides love the idea of nothing on their backs, which is sometimes disguised with illusion tulle as the dress needs structure. Whilst others still want to feel ‘held in’ and only have the very centre of the back on show.

Tiana by Disney Fairy Tale Weddings
We just love how the beaded straps lead your eyes down the back, perfectly in line with the lace pattern. Keep following it down and you will find the most perfect train!
We have had brides see this as the perfect destination wedding dress, for their reception or in modern, hotel venues! And we happen to agree, for a black-tie wedding or city venue, this gown would be perfection!
Dylan by Hayley Paige
With Hayley Paige’s signature handkerchief skirt and dainty, polka-dot tulle, this gown is full of personality! But it is the back that adds the WOW-factor!
Little, square sequins are built up to create a floral border for your back that run all the way up to the straps! This detail will intrigue your guests while you have your back to them saying your vows!
This gown would look perfect for a Summer or garden wedding, where a floral theme could be taken advantage of! The polka dots won’t be for every bride, but a bubbly ray of sunshine could really pull this unique style off and have the best wedding day doing so!
Cali by Jennifer Wren
For the not-even-there back, this gown is purely crafted from tulle and lace appliques from the side panel onwards! This low back wedding dress is for the more confident bride who doesn’t mind showing the sides and back!
If that is you, then you have to try Cali! With lots of detail and 3D flowers on the front, the subtle detail of vines and pearl trim is all you need on the back of this whimsical dress! Lightweight, comfortable and with elements of a typical wedding dress, Cali is a real people pleaser amongst brides and their guests! And the price tag is under £1000, which is a bargain that needs to be snapped up!
Nadine by Abella
When buying gowns for the boutique, I lecture the team on ‘what will the brides like?’ and ‘it’s not what you want, but your brides!’….
Well, that went out of the window when we ordered Nadine as we all fell in love with her sparkle, plunge neckline, silhouette and of course, low back! This gown is not for the faint hearted but will take your guests breath away!
Got curves? Great! Don’t be afraid to try on a gown like Nadine as she will elegantly show them off, leave you feeling sensational and flaunt your back too! And Nadine is a great example of a back with a touch of support to leave you feeling more secure!
Cinderella by Disney Fairy Tale Weddings
Now this low back wedding dress will take some beating! The beaded bodice is to die for- and I am NOT being overly dramatic! The not-too-low V-neck is balanced by a low V on the back, surrounded by heavily embellished side panels. You would think it would be the ballgown skirt adorned with glitter, or the cathedral length train on this dress that would be the WOW-factor…. but it’s all about the bodice!
Again, this gown would work if you have curves, but looks equally beautiful on someone of a petite frame. So, no matter your shape, body size…or how much of your back you want to show, we fully recommend trying on this gown! You will not regret it- it’s a dress dreams are made of!
Our top tips for choosing a low back wedding dress!
- Consider how the back will still have wow factor- after all, it is what your guests will see when you say your vows. Will it have some embellishment? Will you add a veil?
- If you have concerns over ‘back fat’, find a gown that still feels secure on the side seams and has some panelling across your hips and/or side panels.
- Square backs (as well as square necklines) are a modern option for a low back wedding dress. Look out for these if you are looking for something particularly contemporary!
